Her creatures emerge from the shadowed territories of memory\, identity\, and the subconscious\, places where what protects us may also obscure our sight. She offers these beings as emissaries and invitations\, believing that art can call forth truths held within both the individual soul and the collective consciousness. \nLittle is known of Garrie herself. She moves through this realm as one of her own masked creatures\, allowing the work to exist beyond biography\, expectation\, or explanation. She hopes these beings will beckon others to look beneath their own masks and create from whatever stirs there\, for she believes that\, when darkness gathers\, art is how we summon the light.

DESCRIPTION:Featured Artist: Kathleen Dyer. \nKathleen Dyer is a full-time artist and muralist who has been painting canvases\, skateboards\, shop windows\, and walls throughout the Wenatchee Valley since moving here from Park City\, Utah over 20 years ago. She attended The Art Institute of Pittsburgh to study Media Arts and Animation\, and after completing an internship at an animation studio in Ireland in 2012\, Kathleen originally planned to move overseas to pursue animation full-time. Instead\, she chose to stay in the valley and focus on painting murals and commissioned artwork locally. Art has always been a major source of the joy in her life\, and her main focus is to spread that joy through her work. She paints from her heart with vibrant colors in a semi-realistic style – with a wide variety of constantly changing subject matter consisting of anything  from scenic landscapes to happy monsters\, to her favorite foods\, animals\, people\, and flowers. In her free time she enjoys hanging out with her husband Hans\, her 17 year old daughter Chloe\, and her fluffy dog Georgie.

DESCRIPTION:Featured Artist: Martha Flores. \nMartha Flores was born in El Salvador\, and came to the USA when she was 15 years old. She has a Masters in Fine Arts\, Painting\, and Sculpture; and an MA is psychology. Martha was a mental health counselor for 30 years\, and always did art in her spare time. After her divorce in 1982 she started writing poetry\, and wrote her first book in Spanish\, “Piel de Barro\, Skin of Clay”. When her brother\, Miguel\, died of the terrible disease AIDS\, she wrote a second book for him\, also in Spanish. Her third book is in English. “The Immensity of our Essence”. Since retiring she has dedicated herself to writing poetry\, painting\, teaching\, and sculpting.
